Workshops

Private or group workshops in ceramic sculpture and painting

I love to offer workshop time and space in a relaxing, creative environment. All of my classes can be enjoyed with any level of ability. Making processes and techniques are explained and demonstrated in a supportive and encouraging way. I aim to see individual creative expression in each project rather than a formula type process with a singular outcome.

I am able to tailor a workshop to groups and individuals wanting a specific teaching or private function. This service has been offered to woman’s circles, birthday parties, festivals, school group and parent and child groups in the past. If you have a creative process you would like to explore please contact me and have a chat.

Succulents in clay

Handbuilt succulents using coiling technique. Be inspired by the sculptural beauty of nature and take home a beautiful, low-maintenance house plant! A supported three-hour workshop.

Hooded plovers

Workshops focussed on Hooded Plovers, a local endangered species is a great way of teaching children and their families about the identity, habitat, vulnerability, species numbers and life cycle of these beautiful little shore birds. Students make a life-sized plover in clay and paint and glaze the work. They then make a nest and a Birds Nesting warning sign for the beach. Creative hands are accompanied by current facts and positive action to be taken for protecting the species. Two two-hour workshops.

Big fat feral cat

This class discusses the damage caused by feral cats and domestic cats is a valuable learning process for students. We look at the species which threatened by unrestrained cats in our area. Discuss tactics for managing cat behaviour and strategies for reducing the pressure cats place on our fauna. A large-scale wax resist and watercolour painting process.

Shrines

Explore the use of shrines in cultures around the World in this four hour workshop. Print, stamp and embellish a slab-built personal shrine. Create your own sacred space with nooks, shelves, symbols or text.
